THREE women have been stabbed to death in a brothel as a knifeman went on a rampage.

Cops have arrested a suspect after the horrific deaths of three women in the red light district of the Austrian capital Vienna.

The knifeman is believed to have roamed from room-to-room in the Asia Studio in the horrific massacre.

The suspect, a 27-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, was arrested nearby and found with a knife suspected of being the murder weapon.

He was tasered by police and was also found to be covered in knife weapons – likely self-inflicted, reports Die Presse.

The suspect’s motive is unknown.

Police found a fourth woman inside the brothel and she is being questioned as a witness.

She is reported to have locked herself inside a room and overheard the horrific attack.

Police spokesman Philipp Hasslinger said the three victims were found in separate rooms.

Cops were scrambled to the scene after a passerby found blood outside the brothel at around 9pm on Friday.

Brothels are legal in Austria, and the Asia Studio is in Vienna’s 20th district, one of the city’s poorest areas.

The venue describes itself as an “erotic massage” parlour.

A spokesman for the Vienna State Police Department told BILD: “The perpetrator is not Austrian. He first had to be treated in hospital because he injured himself while carrying out the crime.

“He was then handed over to police custody.

“The interrogations and investigations into the background to the crime are now in full swing.”

It came as two other women were also murdered in Austria in the city in a separate case.

The mother and her 13-year-old daughter had been found dead in a Vienna apartment earlier Friday.

They were possibly strangled or choked to death, with the father a prime suspect, reported Austrian media.

Austrian women’s groups have recorded 26 femicides last year – with many being killed at the hands of partners or ex-partners.

The Austrian government has vowed to crack down, pledging several measures including increased funding for organisations helping victims of violence.

But NGOs say the government is not doing enough to stop the murders.

Between 2010 and 2020, 319 women were killed in Austria, mostly by their male partners or ex-partners, with a record high of 43 victims in 2019, according to a government study.
