Tinubu receives Queen of Denmark at State House (photos)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu received Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark, who paid him a courtesy visit at the State House in Abuja on Tuesday, June 24. 

The European monarch was greeted at the President’s official residence in the State House. President Tinubu and First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu were there to welcome her.

Also in attendance were the Chief of Staff to the President, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, and the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu.

In the company of the Queen was the Danish Ambassador to Nigeria, Jens Ole Bach Hansen. 

In a statement on his official X account, Tinubu expressed his gratitude for the visit: “It was a great honor to host Her Majesty Queen Mary Elizabeth of Denmark at the Aso Villa in Abuja today. Alongside the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, we received Her Majesty during this significant visit to our country.

“Our conversation was warm, constructive, and forward-looking, grounded in mutual respect and the enduring ties between Nigeria and the Kingdom of Denmark. Her Majesty’s presence here stands as a mark of goodwill, shared values, and a renewed commitment to deeper cooperation across key areas. 

“As a government, we remain committed to partnerships that uplift our people, open new opportunities for prosperity, and ensure a sustainable future for generations to come.”
