The tourist was captured in a pink dress leaning from the train a mere few moments before the horrific tragedy.

The Podi Menike train, which Olga was on, is renowned for its amazing scenery as it passes forests, mountainous terrains and beautiful landscapes.

She sadly died after falling off the train when attempting to take a selfie, according to a local report citing cops.

Olga was hanging from the train footboard between the Badulla and Hali Ela railway stations when the tragedy occurred, it adds.

She is said to have “knocked against a rock, fell of the train and sustained severe injuries”.

The train was going towards Ella, which is home to the well-known Nine Arches Bridge, on a line that’s been dubbed one of the world’s greatest rail experiences.

Olga was given emergency treatment after the tragic accident but died from her head injuries.

The tourist was part of a Russian tour group in Sri Lanka.
