Pictures and videos shared on social media show the Magic Kingdom mascot posing for photos with smiling tourists.

But all is not as it seems.

Tourists unwilling to pay for photos have reported being threatened by the character, with one claiming he pulled a knife on them.

One TikTok user posted a picture of her young daughter with the Mickey Mouse impersonator.

She wrote: “I was super excited and had my daughter take a picture with Mickey Mouse.

“Only now have I discovered that he goes around with a knife and take its out on anyone who doesn’t give him money.

“Thank god we escaped.”

Others posted pictures warning tourists to avoid the seemingly harmless character if they encountered him.

Local MP, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, reported the crook to the police after receiving numerous reports and videos on the shady subject.

Borrelli said the crook, who is disguised as Mickey Mouse, reportedly threatens and extorts money from tourists and citizens who take pictures with him.

He added that in one video, someone claimed that the man is also armed with a knife.

Borrelli said: “We cannot allow people like this to act undisturbed in the tourist areas of the city, damaging the image of Naples and creating a climate of fear between citizens and visitors.

He added: “I want an investigation to get to the facts and if the allegations are confirmed he will be caught and dealt with.”

The MP has called for “mouse trap” patrols to catch the crook red-handed.

He added: “Naples cannot be hostage to those who think they can do just as they like without any respect for the law.”

The crook is operating in tourist hot spot, Via Toledo in Naples.
