President Trump called out Democratic Rep. Shri Thanedar (Mich.) for filing articles of impeachment against him during a rally in Michigan celebrating his first 100 days in office.

“Today they did it again. Some guy that I’ve never heard of … is he a congressman? This guy, he said … ‘ladies and gentlemen, I am going to start the impeachment of Donald Trump,’” Trump said at the Michigan rally. “What the hell did I do? Here we go again.”

“They want to impeach me,” Trump said, earning boos from the crowd of supporters. “This lunatic.”

Trump was criticizing Thanedar, who filed seven articles of impeachment against the president on Monday.

Thanedar said he was introducing the articles of impeachment against Trump over various actions, including the Department of Government Efficiency, the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador and more.

“I have introduced articles of impeachment against President Trump,” Thanedar said in his announcement online. “When Trump ignores the Constitution, Congress, and the courts, he is not ‘fighting for America.’ He is tearing it down and endangering our democracy.”

Thanedar said Trump’s impeachable actions included his tariff agenda impacting global markets, his treatment of reporters and the First Amendment, his bribery and corruption in the justice system, and his obtaining of Americans’ personal data.

Finally, and most importantly, he is attempting to consolidate unchecked power and erode the constitutional limits of the presidency,” Thanedar said.  “In this country, we have presidents, not kings. That’s not just misconduct. It’s impeachable misconduct.”

The president said during his rally that he turned to First Lady Melania Trump when he heard of Thanedar’s announcement and questioned if Democrats were really looking to impeach him again.

“Did I just hear I was getting impeached again?” Trump said, earning laughs from the crowd. “We’re getting good at this, though.”

“They’ve gone totally crazy,” he added.

Trump’s rally on Tuesday evening was intended to celebrate his first 100 days back in office.

He was hosting it in Michigan to celebrate winning the battleground state in the recent election and in honor of his last rally there ahead of Election Day. Republicans have an uphill battle to win the governor’s seat in the state, but they are optimistic after Trump’s win.
