President Donald Trump insulted Fox News host Jessica Tarlov on Wednesday after she reacted to the Midtown Manhattan shooting and called for more gun control. Trump weighed in on Tarlav’s comments on the Fox News show ‘The Five’ as he returned home from Scotland aboard Air Force One.

‘I can’t stand Jessica Tarlov of THE FIVE. A real loser!!! DJT,’ wrote Trump at 5:13 pm on social media. Tarlov is a former political strategist for the Democratic party and appears on the network as the ‘token liberal’ to share her left-of-center opinions about politics and current events.

The president commented on Tarlov after endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul’s reflection on gun control, calling for an assault weapons ban. ‘We did have an assault weapons ban from 1994 to 2004, we saw a decrease in mass shootings in this country, 70 percent less likely to happen. And then when the ban sunsetted, it spiked back up,’ Tarlov said, referring to Hochul’s remarks.

Tarlov also suggested that someone with a ‘documented mental health history’ should have not had a concealed carry license for a gun. ‘How are these things happening? And I don’t think that it hurts the conversation or takes us backward at all to consider how we might prevent one of these things from happening,’ she said.

Tarlov also defended CNN’s Erin Burnett who was criticized for describing the now-deceased shooter, Shane Tamura, as ‘possibly white’ in the initial reporting from the shooting, even as the photo showed a man with dark hair and complexion. ‘I saw all over social media that the perpetrator was of Middle Eastern descent, and people were jumping to that before we found out that actually it wasn’t the case at all. He’s an American, half black, half Japanese,’ Tarlov said.

‘Yeah, that’s social media though. CNN should know better,’ co-host Greg Gutfeld replied. Tamura drove across the country with an M4 semiautomatic rifle and entered the Midtown Manhattan office building and opened fire in the lobby before taking the elevator to the 33rd floor, according to officials.

He killed four people including a NYPD police officer and injured one other person before turning his rifle on himself and [killing himself]. It’s not the first time the president has criticized Tarlov, as he appears to be an avid watcher of ‘The Five’ Fox News program.

In June, the president complained about Tarlov after she brought up the president’s negative poll numbers on the show. ‘Why does Fox News allow failed TV personality Jessica Tarlov to ‘soil’ The Five?’ Trump wrote on social media.

‘Her voice, her manner, and above all else, what she says, are a disgrace to television broadcasting.’ Trump added that ‘people like Jessica Tarlov make MAGA absolutely hate Fox!’ ‘Nobody can stand Tarlov!’ he continued.

‘She lies over and over again, and MAGA is complaining, BIG LEAGUE, that she’s all over Fox. Watch their ratings go down by keeping her on the show — nobody wants to listen to her.’
