On Monday, Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to once again voice his discontent with the Los Angeles mayoral primary election. His midday post targeted the election process and its results.
Trump expressed disbelief over Spencer Pratt’s position in the race, stating, “Not possible for Spencer Pratt to have lost the L.A. runoffs after the big lead he had. 3rd World Nation. Rigged Elections!” His criticism did not stop there; he also mentioned, “Now they’ll be working on great guy Steve Hilton. Won’t have results for, possibly, TWO WEEKS, according to officials. President DJT.”
As the votes continued to be tallied, the online results from Los Angeles County on Monday afternoon displayed Pratt in third place. He was trailing behind incumbent Karen Bass by eight percentage points and was closely followed by city councilmember Nithya Raman, who was less than half a point ahead.
Pratt had maintained a lead over Raman from Election Day until the previous night, making the sudden shift in standings a point of contention. Only the top two candidates from the primary will move on to compete in the general election, adding intensity to the race and Trump’s pointed commentary.
Pratt had held a lead over Raman from Election Day until last night. Only the top two candidates will advance to the general election.
Trump has voiced his suspicions several times, including in a Truth Social post on Sunday night.
‘Has anybody been watching the CROOKED Election going on in California,’ the President wrote.
‘Two great Republican Candidates are being cheated, and so is America, which if the Dumocrats are able to fulfill their mission, great trouble and consternation will follow. Watch this “Election” closely!!!’

As of Sunday night’s ballot drop in California, Raman (pictured) has now overtaken Pratt for second place by 3,000 votes and is now favored to win
Trump was referring to Pratt and gubernatorial candidate Steve Hilton, who remains solidly in second in his primary.
California’s election laws allow for substantial wait time after Election Day. Mail-in ballots postmarked by Election Day will be counted as long as they arrive within seven days. County officials have up to thirty days to finalize their results.
The Department of Justice has sent one of its attorneys to the Los Angeles to observe the ballot counting process, as Trump’s claims of fraud persist.
Pratt expressed his own frustrations with the lengthy vote count process in a social media post earlier on Sunday.
‘Remember everyone…we are still in the lead, and we’ve got allllllll the way til July 6th to keep counting,’ he wrote, captioning a photo of Raman crying on election night. ‘They’re not the only ones who know where to find votes.’
The race remains too close to call, but Raman has made substantial gains with mail-in ballots and is widely expected to advance past Pratt and face Bass in the general election.
Sunday was the second consecutive day that Raman added more votes to her tally than either Bass or Pratt.
Generally, more Democrats cast mail-in ballots than Republicans. A States United Action analysis found that one in four registered Democrats voted by mail in 2024, compared to only one in five registered Republicans.
Bass retains her lead over the two challengers with 34.7 percent of the vote
Many right-leaning personalities were baffled and outraged by Raman’s surge ahead of Pratt.
‘Spencer Pratt falls to third place and a woman who hardly anyone voted for in person, Nithya Raman, totally dominated in mail voting,’ wrote Clay Travis.
‘No one with a functional brain believes these results.’
Meghan McCain said she’s noticed more and more conservatives wonder about election integrity.
‘For whatever it’s worth, people in my life who have never ever spoken about stolen elections in any capacity are now saying this about California…’ she wrote.
Longtime conservative actor James Woods said, however, that he wasn’t ‘disturbed’ by the results or the ‘Democrat fraud unfolding’ in the race.
‘I knew to a certainty that statistically impossible cheating would take place AGAIN. I said it, I was right, and I’m done with it. America is lost,’ Woods said.
Bass made clear she had already turned her attention on her probably new opponent, the socialist Raman.
‘We look forward to winning a contest against an opponent who allows encampments near schools and fights against hiring more cops, yet is MIA on saving Hollywood jobs and fighting back when ICE invades LA,’ a campaign spokesperson for Bass said.
‘We are encouraged by the latest vote count and remain grateful to the thousands of Angelenos who have powered this campaign,’ Raman told The Daily Mail.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Pratt for comment.
