When Will It Stop? Huge New Fire Explodes Near Los Angeles, Tens of Thousands Ordered to Evacuate

This story slipped quietly under the radar, but it turns out that the Biden administration had been suing several police and fire departments for neutral recruiting practices that judged candidates on their mental and physical aptitude and not gender or race. In other words, the defendants were being sued for hiring those who could actually do the job instead of lowering their standards to meet bogus DEI quotas. And the Trump administration just put an official end to all that nonsense.

On Wednesday, with the support of President Trump, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi dismissed several lawsuits that the Biden Department of Justice (DOJ) had brought against jurisdictions that put ability above gender or race. In a press release, the DOJ declared: “These lawsuits, launched by the previous administration, unjustly targeted fire and police departments for using standard aptitude tests to screen firefighter and police officer candidates.”

Prepare to Be Shocked: Los Angeles’ Fire Chief Is a DEI-Obsessed ‘LGBTQ’ Woman Who Wasted Millions

The attorney general was quoted as saying, “American communities deserve firefighters and police officers to be chosen for their skill and dedication to public safety – not to meet DEI quotas.”

The Trump DOJ revealed that the Biden administration brought these lawsuits despite “no evidence of intentional discrimination” by the defendants, using lawfare to coerce jurisdictions across the country to partake in the harmful DEI practices so loved by Democrats.

The White House released further details on the lawsuits that were dismissed.

  • DISMISSED: United States v. City of Durham (North Carolina)
    • The Biden DOJ alleged discrimination because entry-level firefighter applicants were required to pass a written exam. The city was required to provide compensation and preferential hiring to applicants who were not hired.
  • DISMISSED: United States v. Maryland State Police
    • The Biden DOJ alleged discrimination because applicants were required to pass a written exam and basic physical exam. The agency was required to provide compensation and retroactive seniority to applicants who were not hired.
  • DISMISSED: United States v. Cobb County (Georgia)
    • The Biden DOJ alleged discrimination because firefighter applicants were required to complete a written exam and credit check. The county was required to provide compensation and preferential hiring to applicants who were not hired.
  • DISMISSED: United States v. City of South Bend (Indiana)
    • The Biden DOJ alleged discrimination because police applicants were required to pass a written exam and basic physical exam.

A few short days before Donald Trump took office again, the topic of DEI hiring practices by fire departments grabbed headlines as wildfires spread across Los Angeles as a seemingly overwhelmed fire department struggled to get the fires under control. Kristin Crowley, who was the L.A. Fire Chief at the time—a position from which she was recently fired by Mayor Karen Bass—had been celebrated as the “first LGBTQ+” person to hold the position,” but quickly became the face of a department that put DEI practices ahead of pesky things like budgets and staffing.

Then things got even worse when a video surfaced of now-Assistant L.A. Fire Chief and DEI Bureau head Kristine Larson accidentally making the case against DEI.

LARSON: You want to see somebody that responds to your house, your emergency whether it’s a medical emergency or a fire call, that looks like you. It gives that person a little bit more ease knowing that someone might understand their situation better.

By taking a blowtorch to these baseless lawsuits, the Trump administration is sending a clear message: manliness is back and Americans deserve first responders who can meet the rigorous demands of the job. Another day, another Biden administration mess cleaned up by Team Trump. It’s not getting old yet.
