President-elect Donald Trump will host a mass rally for his supporters in Washington DC the day before he is set to be inaugurated and return to the White House for a second term.

The “Make America Great Again Rally” will be held at 3 p.m. ET on January 19 at the Capital One Arena, the Trump, Vance Inaugural Committee announced Wednesday.

The Capitol One Arean can hold approximately 20,000 attendees and is home to the Washington Wizards basketball team and the Washington Capitals hockey team.

The inauguration of the 47th president of the United States will take place the next day on January 20, 2025,

Trump is set to be sworn into a second term in office the day after the rally, January 20 on the West Front of the United States Capitol in Washington, DC, marking the 60th U.S. presidential inauguration. JD Vance will be sworn in as the 50th vice president of the United States.

D.C. officials are on high alert as Trump returns to the White House in addition to the New Year’s terror attacks in New Orleans and Las Vegas.

U.S Capitol Police announced Thursday they have “already been ramping up security, as planned, ahead of a busy month,” but there are “no known threats” to events in the city and

D.C.’s Metropolitan Police Department announced Wednesday that law enforcement has “heightened its security posture” in response to the attacks, including an “increased police presence” on public transit.

“As we approach upcoming major events in the District of Columbia, MPD will continue working with our local and federal partners to assess potential threats and make any necessary adjustments,” the department said in a statement.

The Department of Homeland Security has unprecedentedly designated Congress’s certification of presidential electors on January 6 as a National Special Security Event, the same level of protection as inaugurations and the Super Bowl.

Congress will meet for the first time to certify a presidential election since police shot protesters in the face escalating the Save America rally into a riot and a deadly insurrection.

Unlike 2021, Democrats did not manage to steal the election and there is no massive outcry from Democrat voters claiming Donald Trump rigged the election results.

U.S. Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger claims security for Jan. 6 will be “night and day” from what it was four years ago.

Fences have already been erected around the Capitol warning potential trespassers about federal law prohibiting entering restricted grounds, the police chief told WTOP in December.
