TRUMP has revealed the truth behind the mysterious drones that Biden’s team had kept secret – but his explanation has only raised more questions.

At the first press briefing of his second term, Don’s press secretary Karoline Leavitt said the drones seen over New Jersey were “not the enemy”.

She added that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had authorized the drones for research and other unspecified reasons.

“After research and study, the drones that were flying over New Jersey in large numbers were authorized to be flown by the FAA for research and various other reasons,” Leavitt said, reading directly from Trump’s statement.

“Many of these drones were also hobbyists, recreational and private individuals that enjoy flying drones.

“In time, it got worse due to curiosity. This was not the enemy.”

Leavitt said the information had come “directly from the president of the United States that was just shared with me in the Oval Office.”

But the announcement left crucial questions unanswered — who was behind the drones, what kind of research was being conducted, and why the FAA never disclosed the alleged research during its initial investigation.

Fears were growing last month after mystery “drones” were seen flying over the US.

Hysteria and conspiracy theories swept the country as multiple sightings were reported over homes and military bases.

Firefighters had been ordered to wear hazmat suits to protect themselves from the mysterious flying objects.

Lawmakers and residents, meanwhile, were questioning the source of these mystery devices but officials were left stumped.

BIDEN ADMIN KEPT QUIET

The Biden administration had insisted in December that there was no evidence of anything nefarious after the sightings were linked to both China and Iran.

But it also admitted it was unable to verify the thousands of reports of unidentified craft.

In its initial explanation, the FAA attributed the sightings to “lawful commercial drones, hobbyist drones, law enforcement drones, manned fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and stars mistakenly reported as drones.”

As the sightings continued, the FAA imposed a temporary ban on drone flights in New Jersey and warned that “deadly force” could be used against any drones posing an “imminent security threat.”

That only fueled speculation as the first wave of drones appeared in November, buzzing military bases and Trump’s golf course in Bedminster, sparking fears of foreign surveillance.

CONGRESS DEMANDED ANSWERS

By mid-December, the FBI had received over 3,000 reports in a single week.

But the military denied any involvement.

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle pressed for clarity, with House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Mike McCaul (R-Texas) raising alarms about Chinese spy drones.

“My judgment based on my experience is that those that are over our military sites are adversarial and most likely are coming from the People’s Republic of China,” McCaul said last month.

Michael Melham, the Mayor of Belleville, took to X after Trump’s statement, saying: “We were repeatedly told, ‘These are NOT Federal Operations’ and ‘Not our Government Assets.’

“The question remains, why are so many flying over such densely populated areas?”

Drone sightings

DRONE sightings have been reported all across the East Coast of the US.

They were first seen in Morris County, New Jersey, in mid-November 2024.

Some of the locations where the drones were reported include:

  • New Jersey
  • Parts of New York City
  • Eastern Pennsylvania counties
  • Maryland
  • Virginia

EXPOSING THE TRUTH

During his transition, Trump accused the Biden administration of a coverup, claiming that intelligence agencies already knew the origin of the drones.

“Our military knows where they took off from—if it’s a garage, they can go right into that garage,” Trump said last month.

“They know where it came from and where it went, and for some reason, they don’t want to comment.”

On his first day back in office, he directed his chief of staff, Susie Wiles, to uncover the source of the drones.

“I would like to find out what it is and tell the people. In fact, I’d like to do that,” Trump said.

“Could we find out what that was, Susie? Why don’t we find out immediately?”

MORE SIGHTINGS, MORE QUESTIONS

New Jersey wasn’t the only state to report drone activity.

In Ohio, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base shut its airspace after similar sightings on December 13. Days later, drones swarmed the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base Fort Worth in Texas.

Police in White Settlement, Texas, observed drones flying in formation at 100 feet, sometimes hovering in groups of six.

“We haven’t seen the formation of drones like that before,” said White Settlement Police Chief Christopher Cook.

Yet, despite mounting concerns, Trump’s White House only addressed the New Jersey sightings on Tuesday.

Even with the FAA’s drone ban in place, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said Sunday that new drone sightings had been reported.

“We have now seen new drone sightings. We’re going to have to look into it,” Schumer said at an unrelated press conference in New York.
