Trump’s Remarkable Reaction to Fauci’s Senate Testimony

In a recent turn of events, former President Donald Trump has expressed his views on Dr. Anthony Fauci’s controversial testimony. Dr. Fauci, renowned as the nation’s leading authority on COVID-19, surprisingly remained a prominent figure well beyond Trump’s initial presidential term.

During the hearing, despite warnings about the potential legal implications, Dr. Fauci persistently invoked his Fifth Amendment rights. To underscore the gravity, he did so an astonishing 111 times, asserting his right against self-incrimination.

The conversation took another twist when Trump was questioned about a preemptive pardon granted to Fauci by then-President Joe Biden. His reply was both unexpected and noteworthy.

“So, he was pardoned by Biden, and I respect that,” Trump remarked. “I know how powerful it is.” His acknowledgment highlights a rare moment of respect from Trump towards his successor’s executive decision.

“The only thing I know that he signed was Hunter Biden’s pardon, but I’m not sure that he signed— he probably didn’t sign this one,” Trump added. “So, I can’t tell you what the law is. I’ve heard that you have to have a lot of proof, you need to have letters, you need to have all sorts of things that the person operating the auto pen has to know exactly what it’s all about. He didn’t know what it was about,” Trump said.

“Maybe there’s something on the auto pen,” he continued. “Other than that, the power of pardon is very powerful.”
