Australia 119-1: Travis Head hits his 500th run of the series

As we delve into notable achievements, it’s worth highlighting Travis Head, who has just surpassed the 500-run mark for the series. This milestone came as he deftly nudged Brydon Carse for a single.

This series has proven monumental for the Australian cricketer, marking him as the first player to score 500 runs in an Ashes series while maintaining a strike rate of over 75.

The dynamic batsman from South Australia made a significant impact with a powerful 123 in Perth, followed by a commanding 170 in Adelaide, which played a crucial role in securing the Ashes for his team in his hometown.

Although Head faced challenges in Melbourne, narrowly missing a half-century in the second innings, he’s back in form at the SCG, where he’s already scored 64 runs off 64 balls.

His performance is also proving to be an inspiration for teammate Marnus Labuschagne, who continues to add to the scoreboard.

The Queensland batter, who has just copped a nasty one on the thumb, is taking full advantage of England’s indifferent bowling performance, swiping a short ball from Matthew Potts away for a four.

Australia 129-1 and trail England by 255 runs.
