Unveiling Kamala’s Major Announcement: Everything You Need to Know

In a bid to capture attention, Kamala Harris is hinting at a major announcement set to be unveiled today. True to her style, the teaser offers a flurry of words that leave much to the imagination, earning her the tongue-in-cheek moniker, the “Word Salad Queen” once again.

Speculation is rife as to what Harris might reveal. Some are guessing it could relate to a potential bid for the California governor’s office, while others are pondering whether she might be throwing her hat into the presidential race earlier than expected.

Meanwhile, those on the political right have found an amusing way to respond, masquerading as supporters and encouraging her to run, all while engaging in a form of undercover mockery. This adds a layer of humor to the unfolding scenario, highlighting the complex dance of political theater.

It had people wondering if the announcement had to do with the California governor’s race or if she was perhaps making an early presidential race announcement.

The funniest response was people on the right disguising themselves as supporters and urging her to run, undercover mocking.

I thought that having a password check of “the babysitter is weird” was a bit of a poor choice because it reminded me of Doug Emhoff’s reported dalliance with the nanny during his first marriage. So bad choice of words, whoever put that in this tease.

Then, too, this beats that “Project 2025” fearmongering drum. It didn’t go over well in 2024, so of course, she’s trying to recycle it, because that’s Kamala.

It’s also pretty lame to have the headquarters account password be “headquarters.”

But now we have the answer to the question about the announcement. She wants to build the account into an online organizing project for “next-generation campaigning.”

Now called “Headquarters,” Kamala HQ and People for the American Way are teaming up to build the handle into a “youth mobilization organization” ahead of the 2026 midterms, according to a new release obtained by NewsNation.

It’s an effort to “mobilize pro-fairness, pro-democracy, young people against far right extremism,” the release said.

Harris will be the chair emerita of Headquarters, and many of the staff behind Kamala HQ will be reuniting for the project.

She’s rebranding her Kamala Headquarters account to…a Headquarters account. Alrighty, now.

Translation? She wants to seem relevant and “leader-like,” likely in the run-up to the actual declaration for 2028 at a later point. It’s an angle to attract folks who might support her/work for her in the future. It’s not even a podcast where she might have to do some work.

Of course, it’s also kind of funny that the lady who was essentially handed the baton to run for the top job without one vote from the people for her for that job is going to talk about being “pro-democracy.” And “far right extremism” is nothing compared to the danger of ever-encroaching far left extremism. We see that now, with the radical anti-ICE actions trying to stop the enforcement of federal law.
