In a recent development, our investigative team has highlighted concerning comments made by Senator Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) regarding a video featuring six Democratic congressional colleagues. The video has prompted a review by the Department of Defense, particularly focusing on the involvement of Arizona Senator Mark Kelly.
Senator Gallego’s remarks have raised eyebrows, especially his comments about the military personnel conducting the review. These statements seem to suggest an attempt to sway the investigation’s outcome.
This situation raises serious questions about the integrity of the inquiry. By implying that military members could face “consequences,” Gallego appears to be exerting undue pressure. Although he suggests that adherence to the Constitution will protect them, his words could be perceived as an attempt to influence the process rather than safeguarding the military’s interests.
“Donald Trump is going to be gone in a couple of years,” he said. “And if you’re part of the military that is going after sitting senators, sitting members of Congress, and part of the weaponization of government, there will be consequences, without a doubt.”
Yikes. Talk about trying to put your thumb on the scale and interfere in the matter. What does he think that is? That is effectively trying to influence the inquiry and saying explicitly that military members will face “consequences.” That’s not looking out for the military. He thinks he covers himself with a fig leaf by saying they should follow the Constitution and they’ll be fine.
