A tweet that has gained considerable attention, posted by @Horiyourme on X (formerly known as Twitter), captured a soldier reaching out to @HQNigerianArmy.
In the tweet, the soldier stated:
“Dear @HQNigerianArmy, please inform your troops to retreat to the barracks. POTUS has indicated we’re coming to demonstrate how to handle terrorists. We don’t negotiate with terrorists; we communicate in terms they understand.”
The post has sparked massive reactions online, especially from Nigerians on the microblogging platform X.
Context: Trump’s Threat
On November 1, 2025, President Trump said he had asked the Pentagon to prepare for “possible fast” military action in Nigeria if the country failed to stop attacks on Christians.
His warning comes amid growing concerns over violent incidents across Nigeria, particularly in the central and northwestern regions, where clashes between herders, farmers, and armed groups have killed hundreds.
