During Wednesday’s episode of NewsNation’s “The Hill,” Senator Rick Scott from Florida expressed his belief that military intervention in Cuba is unlikely to be necessary for ousting the Castro regime, as he anticipates the Cuban populace will take action on their own. However, he indicated that military force might be required in dealing with Iran.
In his remarks regarding Raul Castro, Scott speculated, “I foresee one of two outcomes: He might choose to relocate to another country and evade accountability for the atrocities he and the Castro brothers have inflicted, which have devastated what was once a flourishing economy on the island. Alternatively, he may eventually face justice for his actions.”
Scott also anticipated the eventual dissolution of the Castro regime, envisioning a future where democracy flourishes in Cuba.
Host Blake Burman queried, “Do you foresee U.S. military intervention as the next course of action?”
Scott replied, “Blake, I don’t believe that will be necessary. I predict the Cuban citizens will rise up once more, as the regime is depleted of resources—no funds, no fuel. While the Castro family does have wealth, they are unlikely to expend it on defense.”
Scott also said that, in light of Cuba’s drone purchases, we’ll have to ensure better fortification of Guantanamo Bay and Key West, but the Cuban regime can’t actually take offensive action that would work.
After the discussion turned to Iran, Scott said that he thinks President Donald Trump is “going to have to use military action” and the Iranian regime is stringing us along.
