NEWLY-RELEASED police bodycam footage captured the frantic cries of worried parents begging cops to storm a Uvalde school while a crazed teen shooter went about his rampage.

Officers have come under considerable criticism over how they responded to Salvador Ramos’ May 24, 2022 massacre, which left 19 children at Robb Elementary School dead.

Seventeen others were injured in ex-student Ramos’ rampage but cops didn’t confront the lone wolf shooter for more than an hour after the first shots were fired.

In the desperate video, pleas could be heard from parents as they demanded cops to take action.

A commotion erupted outside the school building, while an officer was heard telling people to “stay back.”

“Whose class is he in?” one parent said.

“Come on man, my daughter is in there,” another begged.

A parent gave an ultimatum to one officer, saying: “Either you go in or I’m going in bro.

“My kids are in there, bro… please.”

Despite the shouting and the pleas, officers ordered the parents to stay back.

Footage, shown by CBS affiliate KHOU-TV, captured one officer saying there was just “too much gun firepower” happening inside the school.

The distressing clip showed an inconsolable mom being comforted by an officer, pleading for help.

“My son’s in there,” she sobbed.

“We’re trying to get him out,” the cop consoling her replied.

Other police video that has been released captured an officer saying they cannot see Ramos at all.

“We were at the front and he started shooting,” a cop said.

“He’s in a classroom right?” an officer wearing the bodycam told their colleague.

“With kids,” a third cop chimed in

Around 400 cops were dispatched to Robb Elementary but Ramos was only confronted 70 minutes into his rampage.

Pete Arredondo, the Uvalde schools police chief, and Adrian Gonzales, an ex school district officer, are to stand trial.

They were charged with child endangerment and abandonment. Both have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Arredondo begged Ramos to put down his weapon, telling him: “We don’t want anyone else hurt.”

Ramos was eventually shot dead.

‘SYSTEMIC FAILURES’

The Uvalde school shooting remains the deadliest in Texas history and lawmakers slammed the decision making of those in power, and highlighted systemic failures.

And, a 2024 Department of Justice report said most officers who responded to the shooting lacked the specialized and advanced training needed to respond.

They also revealed what they thought was the most significant failure in terms of the response.

“The most significant failure was that responding officers should have immediately recognized the incident as an active shooter situation, using the resources and equipment that were sufficient to push forward immediately and continuously toward the threat until entry was made into classrooms 111/112 and the threat was eliminated,” it concluded.

The leadership of the most senior officers were criticized as the report found Arredondo had thrown away his radio.

SHOOTER’S PLOT

Ramos carried out the massacre in Uvalde – just days after he turned 18.

He entered Robb Elementary School armed with automatic rifles and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

Ramos fired several shots outside the school building at around 11:32am – just four minutes after crashing his car into a nearby ravine.

After getting into the school through a backdoor, the gunman went through a sliding door that connected an empty room to a classroom full of students.

He opened fire into classrooms 111 and 112 from the hallway before going into the rooms.

Then, Ramos walked out of the classrooms before going back in.

Police uncovered how Ramos had discussed a plot to carry out a school shooting.

He turned 18 on May 16, 2022, before buying a semi-automatic rifle at the Oasis Outback store.

Then days later, he bought a second semi-automatic rifle from that same location.

He described himself as a school shooter on social media, and discussed plans to buy a gun.

And, his social media was peppered with firearm-related content.

Ramos tried to get his hands on a gun in September 2021.

He asked his sister to buy him a weapon, but she refused to do so.

Fourth-grade teachers Irma Garcia, 48, and Eva Mireles, 44, died protecting their students from Ramos’ wrath.

Ramos is believed to have used the blood of his victims to scrawl the message “LOL” on a whiteboard in one of the classrooms.
