AN attorney issued a warning on the consequences of shoplifting at Walmart due to their camera system. 

Ecleynne Mercy shared some of the strategies that the store used to tackle theft.

The Georgia-based attorney (@mercyminute) shared a TikTok video where she told people to stop stealing from the chain.

“You’re not going to get away with it,” Mercy warned.

Mercy explained that Walmart stores had an extensive camera system that could capture what was happening in store.

“They can see you, they can see everybody,” she said.

The attorney added that the cameras capture seven in the store.

“They got you going in, they got you going out,” she said.

“They got like three angles while you’re there.”

Mercy added that Walmart and its loss prevention staff could take shoplifters to court.

“They will testify,” she warned.

“They will come to court, and they will stay the whole day, and they will bring stuff, and they will testify against you, and you will lose.”

Mercy added that Walmart could also ban a shoplifter from one or all of its stores, in the video’s comment section.

The attorney also shared the legal definition of shoplifting under section 16-8-14 of the Georgia Code.

“The act of intentionally taking merchandise from a store or retail establishment without paying for it or altering or removing the labeling or price tag in order to pay less than the item’s full value,” the attorney wrote.

Viewers took to the video’s comments to share their thoughts of the attorney’s message.

“Just… stop stealin.. Its gettin ridiculous,” one person said.

“It’s not worth the trouble, just stop,” another commenter added.
