A WALMART customer has said she will never shop at the retail giant “any more” after she claims multiple associates treated her like a “thief.”
Kim Hunt, a mother and wife based out of Arkansas, made the shocking allegation in a video shared to TikTok earlier this year.
In her February post, Hunt issued a warning to all Walmart customers while hoping her story would reach some employees working for the retail giant’s corporate office.
She revealed that her local Walmart has implemented store policies that allow for less manned cash registers and more self-checkout machines.
While she said she had no problem with using the self-checkout system, she did have a problem with what the Walmart employees did after she used it.
As she checked out, the Arkansas mother said she didn’t bag everything – specifically larger items like diapers and baby wipes – because not everything fit in the smaller plastic bags available.
Hunt claimed after she rung up every single one of her items, one associate asked to see her receipt.
“Sure, of course, there you go,” Hunt explained.
She went on to claim that while that one associate looked at the receipt and checked that everything was in order, three other employees “came running after” her.
Hunt claimed that as the employees asked her to come back to check her items, the original associate again affirmed that she was “good.”
She then proceeded to walk out to the parking lot, where four more associated allegedly accused her of stealing items.
“They were saying that you didn’t check out,” Hunt claimed.
In her rant, she hit back at the employees saying, “look at my receipt, look in my bag.

If you’re gonna make people check themselves out, stop treating me like thieves.”
The Arkansas mother then revealed she would never shop at Walmart again because of the experience, which she said nearly made her cry.
“Walmart you just lost a customer for treating me like a thief.”
Hunt then went on to call on Walmart to “fix their policy,” when it comes to preventing shoplifting.
It was not immediately clear which Walmart location Hunt had been shopping at.
She did not immediately respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
Hundreds of TikTok users flooded Hunt’s comment section, with many taking issue with the employees allegedly following her into the parking lot.
“If I’m not mistaken they are not allowed to chase you once you have stepped out the doors,” one user wrote.
“They are not aloud to approach you in the parking lot. They can only stop you before you get to the doors. I worked there and know the policy,” another claimed.
“4 employees coming after you thinking you didn’t check out correctly but why didn’t one of them do it for you? Ugh,” a third chimed in.
Other Walmart shoppers have encountered similar experiences, with having their receipts checked in store parking lots.
One customer said he was followed all the way to his car after he refused to show his receipt inside the store.
While legal experts have said shoppers are within their rights to refuse showing their receipt, it may give a business reason to believe that you did in fact steal something.
