GROCERY store shoppers have been urged to throw away a popular summer treat over fears one of its ingredients may pose a health risk.
The recall was issued because of an undeclared milk product and health chiefs have warned those with allergies could suffer a potentially life-threatening reaction.
A slew of LaMichoacana and Helados Mexico ice cream products have been recalled.
The items are commonly found in freezers at stores such as Walmart and Dollar Tree.
Bosses at Tropicale Foods issued the recall as a result of the labelling issue.
A variety of flavors have been recalled, including coconut, mango, cookies and cream, and bubblegum treats.
The LaMichoacana coconut, strawberry and bubblegum treats have best before dates of April and May 2027.
No customers have fallen ill after eating the product, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
But, the recall was issued nonetheless.
Those who suffer allergic reactions from milk may develop symptoms such as wheezing, vomiting, hives, or lip swelling, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Health experts have warned that more longer-term symptoms include diarrhea and stomach cramps.
Last year, officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed one in 13 children across the US suffer from food allergies.
This equates to two children in each classroom.

Meanwhile, a recall was issued for a type of diffuser that had a detachable cover.
US Consumer Product Safety Commission bosses warned the magnets on the inside of the cover can detach.
They said this could pose a health risk to children.
More than 850,000 units of the Pura 4 Smart Home Fragrance diffuser were sold across the US.
Shoppers could buy the diffuser from online marketplaces like Amazon, as well as Target between August 2023 and May 2025.
The U.S. Sun reported how a coffee product sold at grocery stores was recalled over fears ink had seeped into it.
And a recall was issued over fears 10 tuna salad products had been contaminated.
Concerns grew that the lunchtime snack had been contaminated with listeria.
Listeria infections can be risky for pregnant women, newborn babies, and adults over 65.
Around 1,600 people every year are infected with listeria, according to the CDC.
