A BRAWL broke out in a local Walmart after multiple customers and an employee got into a heated confrontation over a receipt check.
The shoppers were leaving the South Carolina store when they were asked to show their receipt, according to police.
The worker and customers then allegedly had a “brief exchange of words” after they refused to hand it over on Friday evening.
One of the shoppers then pushed the man, causing him to stumble over, authorities say.
The worker then responded by allegedly punching the customer.
After someone broke up the fight, the customers fled the store located in Florence, South Carolina.
The Walmart worker was brought to the hospital, but did not have any major injuries, police say.
Florence Police Department is now searching for the suspects and say they have surveillance footage.
Although police have not released a video, alleged footage of the fight was uploaded to social media showing three men attacking another man in a Walmart vest.
“He never bothers anyone and always has a smile on his face,” one commenter said of the worker.
“Not deserved AT ALL.”
“He is definitely the sweetest man at that Walmart,” another wrote.
“That’s crazy that this happened to him.”
Police have put out photos of the suspects as they attempt to track them down.
“[S]ee if you recognize these subjects,” police wrote on Facebook, attaching photos of three men.
“They are believed to have been involved in an assault case.”
Walmart’s secret shopper policy
SOME retailers have hired so-called secret shoppers to go undercover and review the customer experience for market research.
However, Walmart has taken a strict stance against the programs.
Walmart’s corporate website explains, “Mystery shopping, sometimes referred to as secret shopping, is where an individual’ acts’ like a customer and evaluates services at a business.
“Walmart does not utilize these services or hire associates to perform services on behalf of other retailers or companies.
However, scammers take advantage of these types of programs by sending fraudulent solicitations via mail, text, or email to entice consumers to evaluate the retail experience.
Often times these offers of employment are accompanied by a fake check made out for a large amount of money or otherwise offer immediate employment with a good salary and minimal effort required.”
The store’s policy has come under fire by customers in the past, with many expressing frustration with their receipts being checked at the door.

Store fights
In July, a former Bravo star was arrested for allegedly attacking a Walmart shopper with a rock-filled sock.
Diamond Tankard, 21, starred on the show “Thicker Than Water: The Tankards,” which documented her family life.
Diamond is the granddaughter of Ben Tankard, a multimillionaire and Gospel producer. The show ran from 2013 to 2016.
The woman was arrested in Tennessee after documents claimed that she was hitting a customer with a sock of rocks.
The victim was checking out when Diamond “came from behind, grabbed her by the hair (and) began to assault her,” according to the probable cause affidavit.
A video of the altercation showed Diamond, dressed in a pink shirt and camo pants, pulling the other woman by the hair before punching her.
The court documents added, “Based on training and experience and the CCTV footage, officers formed the opinion (that) Ms. Tankard used a blunt object to strike (the victim).”
She then posted a $25,000 bond.
