Walmart shooting Update: Ten Dead And Many Injured As Manager Opened Fire

Just a few days before Thanksgiving, a gunman who is thought to be a manager opened fire inside a Walmart in Chesapeake, Virginia, killing up to ten people.

Those present at the incident claim that at around 10.10 p.m. on Tuesday, one of the managers entered the break room and began firing at people inside the Sam’s Circle Walmart, which is close to Battlefield Boulevard.

When police came on the scene, they discovered a number of injured and dead victims in addition to the gunman, they reported. One person’s body was found outside outside the store’s entrance.

Although the precise number of victims is still unknown, a spokesperson for the Chesapeake Police Department stated that no more than 10 people have perished in the shooting.

All injured have been transported to hospitals in the area.

Five patients were being treated for injuries at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, the area’s top trauma center, a spokesperson confirmed.

Over 40 emergency service vehicles flew to the Walmart supercenter on Tuesday night, and a number of people are thought to be critically harmed.

After the horrifying attack, a Walmart employee waiting outside the store stated on social media: “It was the manager.” one of the supervisors.

The terrified employee continued, “He blew his brains out and everything,” in reference to the shooter. He did everything—killed the female inside. He entered and began to spray. In sympathy with the victims.

I had just left the break room when the manager entered and began shooing and capping people. We sadly lost a few of our colleagues.

‘It was a traumatic experience,’ he told DailyMail.com.

Another Walmart employee who showed up for their nightshift shortly after the shooting told reporters at the scene: ‘Thank goodness I showed up late.’

Following the tragic shooting at the Virginia Walmart right off Battlefield Boulevard, police have put up tape.

Police were scouring the building, according to Leo Kosinkski, a police officer, and there were numerous fatalities and injuries.

When the cops got there, they recognized there was an active shooter situation, so we had to alter our strategy, he added.

At this time, it’s unclear how many people perished. At the time of the incident, the supercenter was available to the public, and police speculated that it may have been bustling as people prepared for Thanksgiving.

Police are now concerned that there might be even more victims of the gunfire hiding or injured inside the sizable store.

Virginia Beach police responded to assist the Chesapeake Police Department. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms in Washington tweeted in the early hours of Wednesday morning that they were also on the way to help with the investigation.

Senator Louise Lucas of Virginia, who represents that area of Chesapeake, said: “I am utterly devastated that tonight’s latest mass shooting in America occurred in a Walmart in my district in Chesapeake, Virginia.

I won’t stop until we find ways to stop the plague of gun violence that has claimed so many lives in our nation.

Elaine Luria, a member of congress, wrote on Twitter, “Enough is enough.”

‘Sickened by reports of yet another mass shooting, this time at a Walmart in Chesapeake,’ Virginia senator Mark Warner stated. I’ll be keeping a careful eye on developments.

Just last week, another shooting rocked the state of Virginia after three college football players died when a former player opened fire on a field trip bus.

Around 10.15 p.m., Christopher Darnell Jones Jr., 22, opened fire on the bus, killing three persons and injured another two.

Lavel Davis Jr., D’Sean Perry, and Devin Chandler were University of Virginia students who perished in the horrifying massacre.

Devin Chandler was shot and killed while he was sleeping, the prosecution claimed in court. Last Sunday, the terror struck as the pupils were returning from a field trip.

Jones is accused of second-degree murder and other offenses related to the shooting, which sparked a manhunt and a 12-hour lockdown of the campus before he was found in a suburb of Richmond.

Jones will make his next court appearance in December at 9.30am and was remanded in custody without a bond.
