What happened to TikTok user Amigo Chino?

Amigo Chino gained widespread attention when he declared that he was responsible for the Orangetheory Fitness car crash.

Because of his alleged involvement in the incident, he says that he had been put on house arrest.

The TikTok star tried to prove his claims by showing his followers that he had an ankle monitor, which he then attempted to remove, saying he had no interest in complying with authorities.

He also said that since he’s on the run, he’s trying to escape Massachusetts and head to California.

Who is Amigo Chino on TikTok?

Not much is known about Amigo Chino, but his claim to fame looks to be his online documentation about how he’s on the run.

All the videos on his TikTok page are related to the Orangetheory Fitness car crash.

After claiming that someone had paid his $10,000 bail, he went on to sell shirts that read “Free Chino,” urging the public to place orders so he would have enough money to leave his home.

“Update: i need money to make the trip to cali, special thanks for the first ppl who bought the shirt imma come see you or call,” he wrote in the caption of one of the videos.

What has Amigo Chino said about the Orangetheory Fitness car crash?

Amigo Chino says that he’s fully responsible for the car crash that happened at Orangetheory Fitness in October 2023.

In a video that has since gone viral, he said that he had been “fired on the first day ” and that, as retaliation, he planned to put a brick on the gas pedal of his boss’ car.

He then stitched a video of authorities investigating the scene, as well as a supposed NBC Boston report that named him as the culprit.

While most of his videos so far have made rounds on the social media platform, it all appears to be an elaborate prank to achieve online fame.

There are no articles about him on the NBC Boston website, while the true owner of the car in question confirmed to the police that they had activated its automatic starter while walking towards it, prompting the crash.
