Christina Lomasney and James Mattis tied their knot recently.
The couple had two ceremonies, first, they got married in front of a priest in a riverside ceremony on the banks of the Columbia River, and then had a Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator.
Lomasney is a scientist with extensive experience in materials science and electrochemistry, and Fortune named her one of the World’s Most Promising Women Entrepreneurs in 2015.
Christina created Modumetal, Inc. in 2007, a Seattle-based firm that develops and commercializes a unique class of nanostructured materials that outperform steel in corrosion resistance. Christina generated more than $100 million in stock and non-equity finance while at Modumetal and formed agreements with many Fortune 500 organizations. She was president and CEO of the corporation until 2020.
Christina serves on the board of JCDREAM, the Joint Center for Deployment and Research in Earth Abundant Materials, by gubernatorial appointment. She is also on the board of the Association of Washington Business Institute, a fellow with the Unreasonable Group, and an IP strategy mentor with the Founders Institute.
She is also an Entrepreneur in Residence at Washington State University Tri-Cities and has previously served on the boards of the Science and Engineering Business Association and the Washington Economic Development Commission.
Christina received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in physics from the University of Washington in Seattle.
