ARGENTINE actress and comedian Fatima Florez is no stranger to the spotlight.

Florez is now set to become a worldwide name after her boyfriend, Javier Milei, was elected as the next President of Argentina.

Who is Javier Milei’s girlfriend, Fatima Florez?

Fatima Florez, born María Eugenia Florez, is an Argentine actress, comedian, and impersonator.

She is known for her impersonations of former Argentine president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner on Periodismo para todos, an Argentine investigative journalism TV program.

The broadcast translates to “journalism for everybody.”

Florez has won two Martín Fierro Awards, the most prominent awards for Argentine radio and television, in 2013 and 2015.

Florez was born and raised in Olivos, a neighborhood in the Buenos Aires province, in 1981.

In school, she played hockey, did impressions of her teachers, and took acting, dancing, and singing classes.

In 2000, she joined the musical group Las Primas.

In 2001, at the age of 20, she married the group’s producer, Norberto Marcos, who was more than 20 years her senior.

Despite their age gap, the duo were married for over two decades.

Marcos was the one who gave her the stage name, Fatima, based on Our Lady of Fatima, a Catholic title of Mary, the mother of Jesus.

In a 2023 interview with Telefe, he said: “I was the only one who believed in [Florez]. Not even she believed in her and we didn’t have a cent.”

Florez became well known in her late 20s and early 30s for her appearances and impersonations in Argentine TV and entertainment programs.

Her impersonations include celebrities and political figures, including Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Shakira.

She’s even impersonated her now-boyfriend, Javier Milei, donning a short, shaggy wig reminiscent of his famous hairstyle.

When did Javier and Fatima start dating?

Fatima Florez and Javier Milei met when they both appeared on Mirtha Legrand’s popular talk show, Almorzando con Mirtha Legrand.

The show loosely translates to “Having Lunch with Mirtha Legrand.”

As reported by the Daily Mail, during the December 2022 interview, Florez told Milei “You are too alone for your important role,” indicating his lack of a girlfriend or wife.

Two months later, in February 2023, Florez officially separated from her husband of 22 years, Norberto Marcos.

While the pair have publicly remained on good terms, some Argentine media outlets have reported that the two regularly argued behind-the-scenes.

The two have also been the subject of rumors of alleged infidelity.

While it’s unclear when Florez and Milei officially began dating, the pair returned to Legrand’s show in October 2023 ahead of the Argentine election.

Florez confirmed the duo were dating, saying: “We started talking on Instagram and we started seeing each other much later.”

She added, “It came very naturally. It was very little by little. I was in Uruguay, working, and we started writing to each other.”

Milei later told the interviewer “I am very in love,” calling their relationship “exotic.”

Shortly after the interview, Milei shared footage of Florez cheering him on during a political rally.

He captioned the video: “SHE is the most beautiful flower! I LOVE YOU…LONG LIVE F***ING FREEDOM.”

On November 19, during the country’s runoff election for president, she posted a photo on her Instagram Stories, posing while voting.

Milei reposted the story on his own Instagram, writing: “My LOVE Fatima Florez already voted…!!! LONG LIVE F***ING FREEDOM.”

While the two have only been dating for a few months, Florez already seems to be taking her upcoming role as Argentina’s First Lady seriously – or as seriously as a comedian could.

She recently took to Instagram to share a photo of herself impersonating her political boyfriend.

She captioned the photo: “YO SOY TU LEONA” along with purple heart emojis.

The caption translates to “I Am Your Lioness,” a playful nod to one of Milei’s nicknames, the Lion.

Who is Javier Milei?

Javier Milei is an Argentine politician, economist, and author.

He is also the president-elect of Argentina, winning nearly 56% of the runoff vote against Finance Minister Sergio Massa on November 19, 2023.

Milei has been described as Argentina’s Donald Trump, but even the former US President seems tame by comparison.

Trump congratulated Milei on his win via Truth Social.

As reported by Reuters, he wrote: “You will turn your Country around and truly Make Argentina Great Again!”

Milei has three nicknames.

The Lion, which he likes to call himself, the Wig, which represents his (real) shaggy haircut, and The Madman, or “El Loco,” the crazy one.

He reportedly advocates for selling body organs, making Argentina’s official currency the US dollar, and wants to auction off the country’s rivers and seas.

Milei is also a fan of Margaret Thatcher, often shouts and swears on live TV shows, and has called Pope Francis “the representative of evil on Earth.”

His radical views and atypical background have only helped him garner public support.

Milei has spoken about being a champion of free love, compares drug use to suicide, cosplays as a superhero persona called “General AnCap” and refers to himself as a tantric sex coach.

The pro-Trump libertarian has no prior government experience.

Still, the son of a bus driver and housewife has become one of Argentina’s most powerful political figures.

He is set to take office on December 10, 2023.
