MARKITOS Toys is a popular YouTuber who was linked to two members of the notorious Sinaloa drug cartel in November 2023.

The social media star was quick to dismiss the claims – here’s everything you need to know about his comments on the viral cartel video.

Who is Markitos Toys?

Markitos Toys, real name Marcos Eduardo Castro, made a name for himself on social media for posting videos about cars and other vehicles.

His YouTube page has over 3.79million subscribers, and he has posted a staggering 296 videos.

The 24-year-old popular influencer also has four million followers on Instagram where he shows off his exciting life and gives fans glimpses into the behind-the-scenes of his life in the limelight.

He often posts images of him boxing, posing up next to sports cars, and skits alongside other content creators.

What are the accusations against Markitos Toys?

The influencer’s close ties with the security chief for the “Chapitos” wing of the Sinaloa drug cartel Nestor Isidro Pérez Salas, also known as El Nini, has come under question following his arrest on November 22, 2023.

Accusations that Markitos was working for the cartel member surfaced online after internet users came across an alleged official document that listed a person named Marcos Eduardo, alias “Markitos”, as the financial operator of the drug cartel.

At the same time, it also noted that Kevin Daniel Castro Beltran, Markitos’ cousin, was arrested for his association with the cartel.

Eagle-eyed internet users began connecting the dots and some were convinced that Markitos was also involved.

It wasn’t long before the rumors took over the internet and social media.

What has Markitos Toys said about the cartel?

In a video uploaded by the YouTuber following accusations that he was potentially working for the cartel, Markitos was seen in tears as he explained his side of the story.

He revealed that although he had a close friendship with the notorious cartel member, he denied all allegations that he worked for the criminal.

He said in his video: “How are you guys, good afternoon, I have days without uploading anything.

“They have talked a lot about one, let them look for evidence.

“I only had a friendship with my friend and a friendship is worth more than anything, we were friends, I was neither his employee nor he mine”.

He went on to add that he was not responsible for El Nini’s chosen career path and had no control or input over his actions.

Markitos reassured viewers that his friendship with the cartel member never saw him becoming involved in illegal activities.

But not all viewers of the tearful explanation post were convinced.

One commented: “You don’t decide what friends work on, right, but you decide if you get together or not, hahahahaha there is that narkitos toys who is quiet and defends himself better”.

Another said: “I would also cry if the protection and source of money I had disappeared… the nose has made many enemies and now, as it were, he is alone.”
