FORMER NYPD union head Roy T. Richter passed away at the age of 56 on October 4, 2023.
He is survived by his wife, Maryanne Bifulco, and children.
Who is Roy T. Richter’s wife, Maryanne Bifulco?
Maryanne Bifulco is the Senior Vice President of the Tax Planning department for PepsiCo – a position she has held since 1994.
Prior to her job with PepsiCo, Bifulco received her master’s degree from Pace University in 1990.
After her master’s degree, Bifulco landed a job as a senior tax accountant at KPMG.
She then left her position to work for PepsiCo while receiving her Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 1999.
Who was Roy T. Richter?
Roy T. Richter was an ex-NYPD union head from New York City.
Richter received his bachelor’s from St. Francis College in 1988 and later went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law.
After his bachelor’s degree, Richter went on to join the NYPD and spent the last 32 years in the force.
Additionally, he and his wife opened a law firm called Bifulco & Richter LLP, Attorneys at Law in 2000 which is still running as of October 2023.
On October 4, 2023, CEA president Chris Monahan revealed to the New York Post that Richter had passed away.
“The Captains Endowment Association mourns the passing of Past Resident Roy Richter,” Monahan told the outlet.
“He was one of the true great labor leaders in NYC. Roy Richter was a consummate professional, highly respected across every rank in the NYPD and beyond.
“His positive impact on the lives of thousands of cops over the course of his union leadership will always be his legacy.”
According to his daughter’s Instagram story, Richter died on Tuesday, October 3 – his wife’s birthday.
Law enforcement confirmed that Richter was found dead by suicide in his home.
Does Roy T. Richter have children?
Roy T. Richter and Maryanne Bifulco welcomed three daughters throughout their marriage.
His daughter Rachel graduated from Binghamton University in 2022 while his other daughter Sarah just celebrated her 18th birthday.
Additionally, his daughter Rebecca is currently studying at Georgetown University.
Both Bifulco and Richter were often seen posting family photos together.
