COPS have launched an urgent probe after a “spiking” at a UK parliament bar.

The alleged incident unfolded at Stranger’s Bar, in the Palace of Westminster, on January 7 at around 6.30pm.

The woman, a parliamentary researcher, quickly sought help after suspecting her drink had been spiked.

Parliamentary security and bar staff were immediately notified, and the Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation.

There have been no arrests as of yet.

A UK Parliament spokesman said: “We are aware of an incident which took place on the parliamentary estate in early January, which was reported to parliamentary security and is now being investigated by the Metropolitan Police Service.”

A spokesperson for the Met said the London forced had “received reports of an alleged spiking” on January 7 at around 6.30pm.

They added in a statement: “The investigation is ongoing and the victim is being supported by officers.

“There have been no arrests at this stage.”
