DISTRESSING footage has captured the moment a crazed knifeman went on a rampage that saw two people, including a showgirl, killed on the Las Vegas strip.
The video shows Guatemalan Yoni Barrios’ frenzied broad daylight attack that rocked the Nevada city in October 2022.
Barrios, 34, is accused of killing Maris DiGiovanni, 30, and Brent Hallett, 47.
He is also accused of injuring six other people in the rampage that happened near the Wynn Hotel on Las Vegas Boulevard.
Distressing surveillance footage obtained by the CBS affiliate KLAS showed Barrios targeting his victims indiscriminately.
Showgirls, who were wearing feathers, fled the scene in fear.
Barrios plunged the knife into the heart of one of the showgirls.
He was then seen chasing down the street.
Another showgirl was seen falling before Barrios appeared to target more unsuspecting victims.
He was seen approaching a man wearing a black vest before attacking him.
Hallett died after he was stabbed in the back.
Cheryl Lowthorp, who runs DiGiovanni’s employer, The Best Showgirls in Vegas, recalled the horror.
“It happened so fast; he stabbed Maris in the heart,” she told The New York Post in October 2022.
DiGiovanni died in the arms of another showgirl, known only as Anna.
Cops swooped on Barrios, and he was arrested.
They ended up tackling him to the ground at the Venetian Expo convention center.
KNIFEMAN CHARGED
A showgirl reportedly told cops that Barrios asked to pose with the group with his knife.
Barrios went on his rampage after suspecting the showgirls were laughing at his attire.
He told cops that he wanted to let his anger out.
He was quizzed and told police he was trying to sell knives so he could go home, according to documents obtained by KLAS.
A grand jury indicted him on a terrorist charge.
He has also been hit with murder charges.
If convicted, Barrios could face the death penalty.
Barrios has been housed in a psychiatric center for the last two years.
In December 2022, he had been ruled unfit for trial.
Meanwhile, tributes were paid to DiGiovanni following her death.
An online obit revealed she “loved the beauty of life” and “lived it to the fullest without limitations.”
“She was an authentic and caring friend, a devoted wife, a kick-ass sister, and a loving daughter,” it said.
Cops at the time said the attack was “hard to comprehend.”
