An OKLAHOMA woman has been found dead on a Tennessee barge days after she was arrested for repeatedly calling 911 for help.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said the body of 22-year-old Hailey Silas, from Luther, Oklahoma, was found just after 7 am on October 21.
The crew was performing a routine inspection of the barge while it was traveling the Mississippi River near Shelby Forest when Silas’ body was discovered.
According to local CBS affiliate WREG in Memphis, Silas was arrested on October 15 after calling 911 several times from a gas station across from Southland Casino.
The news outlet reported that she was asking police to give her a ride out of the city because she was afraid of something.

When police arrived she told them she was having a “panic attack.” They took her to the station in handcuffs. She asked to talk to her mom and dad, said she was scared and confused, and asked to be taken to a “psych ward.”
She was found dead three days later.
“She was an amazing mother. My grandson is missing out on such a wonderful person. She was such an angel,” said her mother LaRena Darrow.
Officials say Silas was not found with any identification, but Darrow says someone has Silas’ phone. She said when she tried to call it, a man answered but she doesn’t know who he is.
The entire incident, including the cause of Silas’ death, is still under investigation.
