Aaron Carter Family Fighting His Baby Mama Over His Estate- Who Will Inherit It?

A source exclusively revealed to The U.S. Sun that AARON Carter’s baby mama is “at war with his family” over her deceased fiance’s estate because he didn’t leave a will.

On Saturday, November 5, pop star Carter, who has an 11-month-old son named Prince with a former on-and-off partner, was discovered dead in his bathtub.

 

His official cause of death has not yet been disclosed, despite the suspicions of his friends that he relapsed in his fight against drug addiction.

On Monday, November 14, a court hearing will be held to determine who will inherit the late star’s fortune, and Melanie is said to have been speaking with attorneys throughout the course of the previous week.

According to a recent TMZ article, Aaron received strong legal advice from his attorney to draft a will, particularly following the birth of his kid.

Aaron and Melanie’s representatives have been contacted by The U.S. Sun for comment.

The LA County Department of Children and Family Services became involved as a result of marital problems between Aaron and Melanie.

The son of the couple was removed from the Lancaster, California, house and has been residing with Melanie’s mother in Lake Forest, 120 miles away, since September.

Ryan Sellers, founding partner of the Dallas-based law firm Hales & Sellers, PLLC, provided his legal opinion on the predicament.

He stated to The U.S. Sun: “A custody arrangement under California law has no bearing on the state’s intestacy rules. You can only prevent a child from inheriting through a will. If not, the child is regarded as an heir.

“Because Prince is a minor, it is unclear who would have control over the assets, whether it would be the mother or another party.

Although sources had previously claimed that Aaron was having financial difficulties before his death, he owned a home and several vehicles.

The State of California will reportedly determine who inherits Aaron Carter’s assets after his tragic passing at the age of 34.

In most states, the child inherits their parent’s estate if the parent died without a will, but this is allegedly being contested by Aaron’s close family.

 

SON’S INHERITANCE

 

“Even if there is an estate, no one from Aaron’s family would be able to influence the decision. Aaron’s estate will be transferred to Prince’s custodial parent.

“If Aaron has any unpaid debts, those creditors might also have a say in who manages his assets, at least until they are settled.

“California law will determine whether Prince’s legal guardian must go through a simple or difficult court process, but most states have a streamlined probate process whenever there isn’t much to change other than the name on some paperwork.

“The only reason why Prince would not obtain the estate is if he decided to forgo his inheritance. I don’t see that happening, especially because he is a minor, and that’s not the typical decision that I would see a custodial parent making. Legally, there is no likelihood of the inheritance skipping his son.”

In his last interview with The U.S. Sun, he insisted getting his son back was his main priority, as friends claim he prioritized the custody battle over going to rehab.

Although the singer was allegedly living “hand to mouth,” his $800k home was on the market, so his son may have security in any equity from the sale.

FAMILY TIES

The problematic celebrity has a large family, including a twin sister named Angel and an elder brother named Nick who is a member of the Backstreet Boys.

While his father Robert passed away in 2017, his mother Jane, who resides in Florida, has not been seen in public since her son’s passing.

Despite their tumultuous relationship, Nick and Angel still paid tribute to their brother on social media with heartfelt posts featuring precious pictures of their younger selves.

Aaron was also honored by The Backstreet Boys at their show in London earlier this month.

Melanie, 35, was devastated by Aaron’s passing last weekend, according to sources who spoke to The U.S. Sun; despite their recent breakup, she was still regularly checking in on him.

Los Angeles County sheriffs arrived at his house around 11 am, and it was revealed Aaron’s terrifying house-sitter had found him unresponsive in the bathtub.

DEATH SCENE

He was declared dead at the scene, and as police and homicide detectives arrived, it was discovered there was no foul play.

After discovering his deceased corpse and attempting to assist her, the house-sitter screamed, according to a neighbor who spoke to The U.S. Sun.

It will be a challenge to raise a boy without a father, Melanie said in a statement to TMZ after she finally spoke out about the loss. “My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all of my heart.

Please respect my family’s need for privacy as we adjust to the loss of someone we adore. The process of recognizing this unpleasant fact is still ongoing. I appreciate your prayers and thoughts very much.

Melanie, 30, also documented her drive to the home just minutes after his death broke and posted a heartwrenching video reacting to his passing.

In the two-second TikTok clip, she can be seen in the car alone hysterically crying.

Fans showed their support for Melanie in the comment thread of the heartbreaking post.

One person wrote: “I am so so sorry. Please remember you have the biggest part of him than anyone does and that is Prince.”
