Shane Olivea was a former NFL offensive lineman.

The San Diego Chargers drafted this former American football offensive tackle in 2004.

Shane, the talented football player, has drawn public attention since his death in March 2022.

Shane Olivea’s death is believed to be from an over addiction to painkillers or drugs.

The college football player had even compared his painkiller addiction to having a mistress, which he could not leave even if he wanted to.

Having had a set goal of playing a decade or so in the NFL, getting rich, and then going on about his life, the painkiller came between him and his goal.

According to Dispatch, Olivea’s NFL career disintegrated because of painkiller addiction and had spent more than $584000 for it. And even doctors have repeatedly warned that it would have killed him. Though he slowly estranged himself from it, after his rookie year, his friend offered him Vicodin and the next thing he knew was he was hooked with it, and gradually with Oxycontin.

At the time of his death, Shane Olivea was 40 years old.

Born on October 7, 1981, in New York, he died on March 3, 2022, leaving behind his family and loved ones.

According to Shane Olivea’s Wikipedia, he became the NFL’s sixth highest-paid right tackle in August 2006, when the Chargers rewarded him with a $20 million six-year extension.

As most of us are aware, Shane Olivea had a history of dealing with and struggling with drugs addiction.

He had also revealed before to the public that sometimes he would even take 125 Vicodin pills in a day. As mentioned in Sports Illustrated, he made a disclosure that his addiction even derailed his NFL career.
