What Happened To Andrei Sukhovetskiy? Death Details Revealed

Sukhovetskiy was a Russian Major General who had fought in Russia’s campaigns in Syria, Abkhazia, and the North Caucasus. Because of his role in the annexation of Crimea, he was a well-respected officer.

On Wednesday, Ukraine Forces killed a Russian Major General in a blow to the invading military. According to the Ukrainian president, Russia has lost over 9000 soldiers so far.

What Happened To Andrei Sukhovetskiy? Death Details Revealed

Andrei Sukhovetskiy is a high-ranking military figure who has been killed in the war in Ukraine on March 2, 2022. The Ukrainian news outlets announced that he has been killed. The local news outlets and Russian media also reported the news of his death.

Sukhovetskiy was a Spetsnaz commander and a deputy commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District. Some of his colleagues and other high-ranking military officials have also posted about his death. 

Sergei Chipilev, the deputy of the Russian veteran’s group, Combat Brotherhood also wrote about Andrei’s death of VKontakte, the Russian version of Facebook reports News Week.

The post read that Major General passed away on the territory of Ukraine. Sergei did not specify any of the circumstances but did say that he passed away during the special operation. 

The news has since been confirmed by the Russian Paratroopers Union spokesperson.

Russia Major General Andrei Sukhovetskiy Gets Killed Amid War Against Ukraine

The executive director of fact-checking website Bellingcat, Christo Grozev, tweeted about Andrei Sukhovetsky’s death. He added that the demise of the Major General will be a huge demotivator for the Russian forces.

Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia has already lost 9000 soldiers amid the war. 

Sukhovetsky had been working in the latest role since October 2021. His death is the first high-ranking officer in the Russian ranks in Ukraine, reports Republic World.

Who Is Andrei Sukhovetskiy Wife?

Andrei Sukhovetsky and his family were living in Novosibirsk, Russia. Andrei Aleksandrovich Sukhovetsky is his full name.

He had previously commanded the 7th Airborne Assault Division in Novorossiysk for three years. Andrei had also taken part in the Victory Parade on Red Square. Two Orders of Courage were bestowed upon the Major General.

Sukhovetsky’s net worth has not yet been disclosed to the media.
