On March 16, 2026, Princess Catherine made a subtle nod to Mother’s Day through the Instagram page of her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

The 44-year-old princess, mother to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, with Prince William, 43, has opted to refrain from using their personal social media account for Mothering Sunday celebrations. This decision followed an incident in 2024 when Kensington Palace released a family photo for Mother’s Day that was later discovered to be edited.

Through her foundation’s message, she honored the day by stating: “Today we celebrate every mother, carer, and caregiver whose steady love gives children the foundations to thrive. Here’s to all who nurture and guide with the quiet acts that shape the next generation. Happy Mother’s Day.”

The previous year, Catherine had chosen to share a video focusing on Mother Nature instead.

Last year, Catherine shared a video about Mother Nature instead.

As for her husband, William paid tribute to his late mother, Princess Diana, this year.

The Prince of Wales shared an old photograph of him as a child with Diana, who died in a Paris car crash in 1997 when William was just 15.

The photograph – taken at Highgrove in 1984 – showed William in a field of flowers, holding hands with his mother.

He wrote: “Remembering my mother, today and every day. Thinking of all those who are remembering someone they love today. Happy Mother’s Day. W.”

William’s father, King Charles, and Charles’ wife, Queen Camilla, also marked the day on Instagram.

They posted pictures of Charles’ mother Queen Elizabeth II – who died in 2022 – and Queen Camilla with her late mother Rosalind Shand, and wrote: “Wishing Mothers everywhere, and those who might be missing their Mums today, a restful Mothering Sunday.”
