During the Easter break, Prince Edward and his wife Sophie found themselves staying in a nearby holiday cottage, as Prince Andrew allegedly remained in the accommodations they had planned to use at Sandringham.
The couple, aged 62 and 61 respectively, intended to reside at Wood Farm on Sandringham estate. However, they ended up at Gardens House, another property within the estate, because Andrew, 66, reportedly stayed on at Wood Farm. He is said to be waiting for renovations to be completed at his prospective new residence, Marsh Farm.

This incident comes after Andrew’s recent move from Royal Lodge in Windsor. He had been residing there before temporarily relocating to Sandringham.
The Sun first reported on Andrew’s alleged refusal to vacate Wood Farm. The publication cited sources familiar with the internal royal family discussions and logistical arrangements.
The report on him “blocking” Edward and Sophie was first published by The Sun, which cited sources familiar with the arrangements and discussions between members of the royal family.
An insider told the newspaper: “Andrew was evicted from Royal Lodge at Windsor but now has two homes at his disposal.
“He is just going back and forth between Wood Farm and Marsh Farm.
“It’s got to be sorted as Edward and Sophie like to use Wood Farm.”
Edward is reported to have visited Andrew to discuss his move to Marsh Farm, amid claims he was “dragging his heels” over relocating.
Andrew is understood to be using Wood Farm as a temporary residence while extensive renovation work is carried out at Marsh Farm, also located within the Sandringham estate.
Last month, removal activity was observed as Andrew’s belongings, including paintings and books, were transferred to Marsh Farm. The move is expected to be completed in the coming days, with preparations at the property nearing completion.
Gardens House, where Edward and Sophie stayed, is a cottage within the estate that can accommodate up to eight people and is located approximately 300 yards from Sandringham House.
The property, formerly used by the estate’s head gardener, can command prices of up to £4,110 per week during peak periods.
Separately, a security incident was reported at Marsh Farm.
A red car was seen pulling up outside the property, with two individuals exiting the vehicle and scaling an exterior gate before attempting to look over a recently installed six-foot fence.
Security personnel responded and intervened before the individuals returned to their car and left the area.
