Crystal Palace beat Aston Villa by a 3-0 score-line at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening to become the first team to book a place in this season’s FA Cup final.

Oliver Glasner’s Eagles were underdogs going into the semi-final tie, but ultimately emerged comfortable victors after outclassing Unai Emery’s Villans in every department.

Eberechi Eze got the ball rolling in the first half with an outstanding first-time finish. Jean-Philippe Mateta missed a penalty early in the second period, but instead of allowing Villa back into the game, Palace only piled on the pressure.

Ismaila Sarr’s brace, one coming shortly after the penalty miss and the second in stoppage time to wrap up the result, firmly ensured victory.

Palace will return to the FA Cup final next month for the first time since 2016, when they lost to Manchester United in extra-time. On 17 May, they will face either Manchester City or Nottingham Forest, who are to contest the second semi-final on Sunday.
