Bayern Munich are ready to sack manager Julian Nagelsmann, with Thomas Tuchel agreeing to replace him at the Allianz Arena, according to reports in Germany.

The German giants, who have won the last 10 Bundesliga titles in a row, currently lie second in the league table, behind rivals Borussia Dortmund.

And with Bayern faltering in the league, club chiefs have agreed to sack the 35-year-old with an announcement expected on Friday, according to football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Romano claims that with Nagelsmann ‘has not received any direct communication from Bayern’, while adding that there is a ‘full agreement in place’ for Tuchel to take over, who has accepted the job.

Nagelsmann, has won 60 of his 84 games in charge (71.4 per cent) since taking over in July 2021 but only has one Bundesliga trophy and two German Super Cups to his name across his tenure.

When asked if he has heard about rumours of his dismissal, Nagelsmann simply said: ‘Yes’, and when asked if the club has been in contact yet, he responded: ‘No, not yet’.

Romano added that contracts between Tuchel and Bayern ‘have been agreed’ and that ‘documents are being prepared tonight’.

Tuchel, 49, has been out of work since being sacked by Chelsea in September under the new ownership of Todd Boehly.

He has managed European giants like Dortmund and PSG and would bring an intimate knowledge of the German top-flight.

If Nagelsmann is sacked and under-pressure Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is also fired by the north London club, Nagelsmann could be a contender to take over at Spurs.

After defeat at Bayer Leverkusen, Nagelsmann ripped into his players for having ‘zero per cent work rate’.

Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic also labelled them ‘lazy, like I’ve never experienced’ after their title-race blow.
