Andre Onana’s time at Manchester United has been anything but smooth since his arrival two years ago, and now the challenges have trailed him to his duties with the Cameroon national team.
During a match against Cape Verde, Onana made a crucial error by not advancing from his goal to challenge striker Dailon Livramento. Livramento took advantage of this hesitation, scoring in the 54th minute and securing an unexpected 1-0 win for Cape Verde.
The tense atmosphere escalated post-match when fans invaded the field. One fan approached Onana from behind, phone poised for a photo or video. In a moment of frustration, Onana reacted by pushing the fan away, his hand landing on the supporter’s face. This encounter was captured by another spectator filming from the front.
In retaliation, the fan hurled a water bottle at Onana before being escorted from the scene.
This incident adds to a period of uncertainty for the 28-year-old, as Manchester United has recently added Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens to their roster.

The flashpoint comes at a time of upheaval for the 28-year-old, with Manchester United having recently signed Belgian keeper Senne Lammens.
A loan move to Turkish side Trabzonspor is now finalised, with the two clubs having reached an agreement prior to the international break.
For fans of the Turkish club, the hope will be that Onana can not only rebuild his career on the pitch, but also keep his temper in check off it.
