The buzz of the summer transfer window is upon us once more, remaining open until September 1. During this period, clubs are poised to make strategic signings to bolster their squads for the upcoming season.
Bringing you the latest updates, Simon Jones and the team from Daily Mail Sport keep us informed on all the major developments.
Inter close in on Spence
Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan are nearing the conclusion of talks over the potential transfer of Djed Spence.
The 26-year-old defender caught the eye of the Serie A winners before the World Cup, but his standout performances with the England national team further solidified Inter’s interest.
In June, Inter Milan set the wheels in motion, initiating discussions not only for Spence but also targeting his teammate Cristian Romero and free agent John Stones.
The latter has already joined and Inter also want to add Liverpool’s Curtis Jones.
Talks for Spence advanced this morning and the fee is around £26.9m plus £4m in add-ons and a 10percent sell on.
Spence has agreed to the move and is waiting for permission to travel.
The defender previously enjoyed time in Italy while on loan with Genoa for six months from January 2024.
Inter have also agreed a deal to send Davide Frattesi on loan to Lazio with an obligation to buy at £11m. They hope that deals gives them room to buy Jones from Liverpool but they will have to meet Liverpool’s valuation which has been £35m. Their last offer via intermediaries was considerably short of that.
Palace set to sell another youngster
Belgian top-flight side Cercle Brugge are working on a six-figure deal to sign Tayo Adaramola from Crystal Palace.
The 22-year-old Palace academy product is in the final year of his contract, having spent six loan spells away from the club since 2022 and impressed at Sheffield Wednesday in the second half of last season.
Adaramola made his senior international debut this year, starting in the Republic of Ireland’s 5-0 win over Grenada in May.
He is expected to become the third academy player sold this summer, with Mofe Jemide set to join Alverca after Danny Imray joined Wrexham for £5million.

Chelsea sign Marc Cucurella replacement
Chelsea have signed Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria on a five-year deal for a fee of around £16.3m plus add-ons.
The 28-year-old replaces Marc Cucurella, who signed for Real Madrid earlier this summer in a £55.8m deal.
After signing his five-year deal, Chavarria told club media: ‘I’m so excited to get started.
‘This is a dream for me as Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world. This is one of the best days of my life,’ added the 28-year-old.
‘It is a big opportunity but I am prepared and will work hard to help the team achieve success.
‘There are a lot of people who have helped me get to this moment and I have to thank my family. They have always supported me and today is only possible because of them.’

Toon press on with Benfica target
Newcastle United are pressing ahead with talks to sign Amar Dedic from Benfica.

Dedic has been capped 31 times by Bosnia and is valued around £25m.
Newcastle continue to work on a new midfielder too.
Camara never lies
Crystal Palace have held further talks with Monaco over 22-year-old midfielder Lamine Camara.
The clubs have been discussing a £40million deal for the Senegal international who has also been tracked by Chelsea, Newcastle and Manchester United.
Camara impressed in Monaco’s friendly against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Monaco are understood to want a fee in excess of £50m for the midfielder who has three years left on his contract.
Palace have also spoken about France international Youssouf Fofana who is available from AC Milan.
Wrexham’s Souttar bid
Wrexham are making a £7.5million bid for Leicester City defender Harry Souttar.
The Australia international is also a target for Sheffield United.
The Welsh side also made an offer for Viking Stavanger defender Henrik Falchener which was rejected.
Leicester manager Russell Martin, when asked about Souttar’s future, said: ‘He captained the team on Saturday. He will captain the team this Saturday. He’s been amazing since we’ve been in.
‘Since he came back from the World Cup, he’s a proper character. So it wouldn’t surprise me that people are interested in him.
‘As far as we’ve had a couple of bids, but they were nowhere near the valuation of the club and what we value him at.
‘So that might change. Who knows? But whilst he’s here, and I’ve said this to everyone, we’ve had other people who have had interest from us, other players, and we’ve had bids and all that sort of stuff, and lots of talk around different players.’
Villa Wan him
Aston Villa are discussing a move for West Ham right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The 28-year-old is ready to leave West Ham to stay in the top flight and has been considered as a new addition by a number of clubs including Arsenal but Villa are understood to be in pole position.
The Congo international has also been linked with Everton but manager David Moyes is exploring other options.

Villa are in the process of signing Matteo Ruggeri from Atletico Madrid to strengthen their left back options and now Wan-Bissaka looks a strong option for their right-back berth.
They have previously discussed Emerson Royal at Flamengo.
The Eagle has landed… again!
Evann Guessand has rejoined Crystal Palace on a season-long loan from Aston Villa.
Guessand spent the second half of last season on loan at Selhurst Park, playing 14 times as Palace won the UEFA Conference League.
Palace chose not to exercise his option to buy at the end of last season’s loan but remained open to the possibility of Guessand returning on loan. This switch also includes an option to buy.
Palace initially chased the Ivorian on a permanent deal last summer, but he opted to join Aston Villa – where he made just 21 appearances – in a £30million deal from Nice.
Rejoining Palace, Guessand said: ‘I’m so happy to be here. I already have good memories here – but I think it’s only the beginning. I hope many more are coming.’
