Jude Bellingham wouldn’t get into Manchester City’s starting XI if he joined Pep Guardiola’s side in the summer.
That’s according to former Liverpool star Danny Murphy, who believes the English wonderkid would be better off signing for the Reds or even Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Bellingha is one of football’s rising stars and is attracting the interest of some of Europe’s top sides.
The current Borussia Dortmund man has made a huge impact in the side despite being just 19-years-old, with the midfielder having the potential to go right to the very top.
Bellingham signed for Dortmund from Birmingham City in 2020, and his impressive performances for the Bundesliga outfit have already seen him don the captain’s armband, and sparked speculation over another move.
Liverpool, Real Madrid and Chelsea are all said to be keen on signing him, as well as Man City.
However, speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, Murphy believes that despite Bellingham being the full package, he would not start in Guardiola’s team.
Speaking on White and Jordan, Murphy said: “Would he get in any team? At the moment I don’t think he would get in every team, no.
“So I think for him it’s a case of, does he want to go and play every week? Probably, because he’s used to playing.
“Or, does he want to go somewhere where he’s part of something growing?”
Simon Jordan hinted that he is ‘perfect’ for Liverpool, with Murphy adding: “He is, and he’d play.

“The difference is if he went to City, for example, you could argue at the minute that he probably wouldn’t play.”
There will undoubtedly be a lot of interest for the central midfielder next summer, and Murphy believes current Champions League holders Madrid could be another potential destination for him.
“The fact he went to Dortmund tells me he’s not someone scared of change, or learning a language so Madrid is in the equation,” Murphy added.
“Even more so when you look at [Luka] Modric and [Toni] Kroos because they’re near the end. You need someone with some serious ‘cojones’ to fill the boots of Luka Modric.
“He’s a different type [of player] but the end product would be similar in terms of making goals and scoring goals. Modric is a creative player and Bellingham is a creator really, he can be destructive with his physicality.”
Bellingham has been named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the World Cup, with the youngster already making 17 appearances for his country.
The Three Lions will be in action for the first time in the tournament on Monday against Iran, with talkSPORT providing live coverage of the match in Qatar.
