Arsenal fans clearly can’t wait for Eberechi Eze to join their ranks.

Just hours after news broke of his imminent £60m move from Crystal Palace to north London, a massive mural of the England international appeared near the Emirates Stadium.

Eze, who helped Palace win the FA Cup last season, had been linked with Tottenham for months, with a verbal agreement seemingly in place. But in the ultimate transfer twist, Arsenal swooped in at the last minute to steal the 27-year-old from under their rivals’ noses.

The mural, created by renowned street artist Northbanksy, shows Eze in an Arsenal shirt performing his signature goal celebration – crossing his fingers in front of him.

Northbanksy, a lifelong Arsenal supporter, shared the work on social media, proudly displaying it in his self-styled Arsenal street art gallery known as ‘The Tunnel.’

“Eberechi Eze of Arsenal Football Club,” he wrote on X alongside various snaps of the mural, including when selfie in which he imitated Eze’s pose.

While many Arsenal fans were quick to praise Northbanksy for his work and share their excitement Eze’s pending move to the club, some pointed out that Eze’s move hasn’t actually been confirmed by either the Gunners or Palace just yet.

“Great work but I hope this doesn’t come back to haunt us,” commented one supporter. “We’re ridiculing Spurs fans after the deal fell through. We’ll be the laughing stock if this now doesn’t happen.”

Northbanksy, however, wasn’t phased by the potential backlash, offering a classic artist’s response: “That’s the risk I run.”

Only time will tell if the mural will be a masterstroke or go down as one of the boldest, and most premature, statements in north London football history.
