Leeds Transfer Update: Struijk Agrees Move to Brighton While Shea Charles Deal in Limbo

Leeds to sell stalwart Struijk to Brighton

Leeds United have finalized an agreement to transfer Pascal Struijk to Brighton in a deal worth £20 million.

At 26, Struijk, known for his left-footed capabilities and popularity at Elland Road, has not reached an agreement on a new contract with Leeds, prompting the decision to sell.

Chelsea keep tabs on Xhaka – and want £35m for Chalobah

Meanwhile, Chelsea have set their sights on Sunderland’s Granit Xhaka, expressing keen interest in acquiring the midfielder’s services.

However, Sunderland has confirmed that there has been no official communication between the clubs and stressed that Xhaka is not available for transfer. For more details, read HERE.

The Blues want around £35million for Trevoh Chalobah. Como had offered £22m for the 26-year-old England international centre back which was dismissed.

Chelsea could possibly sign two central defenders this summer.

Brighton in talks with Honest defender

Brighton have opened talks with Atalanta over 18-year-old defender Honest Ahanor. The teenager has been capped twice by Italy and can play at centre-back and left-back.

Born in Italy to Nigerian parents, he only qualified for Italy in turning 18. He joined Atalanta last year from Genoa.

Meanwhile, Rangers are in talks with Atalanta over a loan deal for Ben Godfrey.

The defender moved to the Serie A club from Everton in 2024.

Hull eye experience of Belgium veteran 

Hull City have opened talks over a deal for Thomas Meunier. The 34-year-old Belgium international is leaving Lille this summer a free agent.

Meunier, who turns 35 in September, has previously played for Paris St Germain and Borussia Dortmund.

Hull are working hard on a number of targets and have also registered interested in highly-rated Gremio wing prospect Gabriel Mec, 18.

Leeds keen to find compromise on Shea 

Leeds United are in talks with Southampton to try to reach a compromise over a fee for Shea Charles.

Leeds have had two offers of £20million and above rejected, with Southampton pushing for £30million for the 22-year-old.

Southampton have also had interest from Atalanta and Everton in the Northern Ireland international while he was also on Manchester United’s radar.

Leeds have agreed a contract with free agent Harry Wilson and want another free Julian Brandt from Borussia Dortmund.

They have also joined Aston Villa in asking about Japan goalkeeper Zion Suzuki of Parma and have spoken to Borussia Monchengladbach about Swiss centre back Nico Elvedi.

Bayern star heads to Craven Cottage 

Fulham have confirmed the permanent signing of Jonah Kusi-Asare from Bayern Munich for an undisclosed fee, believed to be around £6million.

The 18-year-old joined the club on loan last summer for a £2.7m fee and made seven Premier League appearances.

Speaking to the club’s website, the young forward said: ‘I’m very happy to be a permanent Fulham player. From my first week here, it was very good – I felt like I was a part of the Fulham family.

‘The changing room was very nice, team, staff, so I’m very happy to stay here.’

Vice chairman and director of football operations Tony Khan added: ‘I’m thrilled to welcome Jonah Kusi-Asare to Fulham on a long-term contract.

‘We believe that he is a very talented young player with massive potential and a bright future, and we’re very happy that Jonah is joining the club permanently now following his time with us on loan.’

Fulham keen on Madrid starlet

Fulham are among the clubs interested in Manuel Angel, who captains Real Madrid Castilla – the Spanish giants’ reserve side.

The 22-year-old midfielder also has Deportivo Alaves among his suitors but is understood to be interested in a move to Fulham if his former coach Alvaro Arbeloa is confirmed as their new manager.
