The Ironman World Championships 2022 will be held from October 6 to October 8, 2022, at the Kona in Hawaii. The 45th edition will be held in a two-day format for the first time in the history of the championships. The events include women’s and men’s pro races, select men’s age groups, plus age-group women, and age group fields. The Ironman World Championship has been held yearly in Hawaii since 1978, with 1982 featuring two editions. The World Triathlon Corporation is in charge of both controlling and overseeing the event. It is the annual culmination of a global series of Ironman triathlon qualification competitions.

The event comprises of the following races:

Swim Course – 3.86 km (2.4 miles)

Bike Course – 180.2 km (112 miles)

Run Course – 42.2 km (26.2 miles)

The LIVE Streaming of the Ironman World Championship 2022 will be broadcast on the Facebook account, YouTube channel and Twitch platform of the Ironman Now. It will also be telecast on the Peacock streaming platform in the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Switzerland.

The race is scheduled to begin at 4:30 am Hawaii–Aleutian Time (HT) or 7:30 am Pacific Time (PT) or 10:30 am Eastern Time (ET) on the Ironman Now platforms. The telecast on Peacock will be live on 6:00 am HT or 9:00 am PT or 1:30 pm ET.

Triathlon, Ironman World Championships 2022 Kona: Players to watch out for

Among the women athletes, five-time world champion Daniela Ryf from Switzerland, Germany’s Anne Haug, winner of the 70.3 Worlds in 2021 Lucy Charles-Barclay and Laura Philipp are a few triathletes to watch out for. The reigning Olympic and world champion Kristian Blummenfelt is one of the mega favorites to clinch the title. He will receive stiff competition from Denmark’s Magnus Ditlev and Gustav Iden of Norway who won the 70.3 Worlds in 2019.
