Liverpool have agreed Ryan Gravenberch transfer, according to former Reds player with same agent as Bayern Munich star

Former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique has claimed Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is close to signing for the club.

The 20-year-old swapped Ajax for the Bundesliga champions last summer but has struggled to impress boss Julian Nagelsmann, having started just four of his 24 appearances this season.

Klopp is keen to refresh his ageing midfield in the next transfer window following Thiago Alcantara’s injury-plagued campaign and the indifferent form of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and James Milner are also all out of contract this summer, meaning a major midfield rebuild is needed.

According to Enrique, Liverpool have already started to reconstruct their midfield and appeared to confirm that Gravenberch is on his way to Anfield.

Talking on a livestream, the Spanish defender was asked about Gravenberch and said: “This player is ours, amigo… he said ‘yeah’.”

Enrique explained that the pair share the same representatives and revealed talks had taken place. “It’s the same agent as me, team Raiola,” he said. “We had a meeting not long ago in London, this is our player.”

Enrique was on the verge of providing more details but was cut off by his fellow host who said: “Be careful, you’re on live!”

Liverpool have been linked with another Bundesliga talent in Jude Bellingham but face a fight on their hands to land the talented 19-year-old with Real Madrid and Manchester City among the interested parties.

Wolves duo Ruben Neves and Matheus Nunes are both also reportedly being tracked by Klopp, with Neves entering the final year of his deal at Molineux.

Fulham sensation Joao Palhinha has also been liked with a switch to Anfield, although Manchester United also keen on the Portuguese.
