Man City Goalkeeper Ortega Set to Join Nottingham Forest

Stefan Ortega has decided to make the move from Manchester City to Nottingham Forest. He will be joining on an initial six-month deal.

Initially, Nottingham Forest focused their efforts on acquiring Wolves’ goalkeeper Jose Sa. However, after hitting roadblocks, they shifted their attention to Manchester City’s James Trafford. Despite their interest, Trafford chose to remain a backup for Gianluigi Donnarumma. Consequently, Forest turned their sights to Ortega.

The need for a new goalkeeper became pressing for Forest after losing John Victor for the season due to knee surgery.

Forest have also made a loan offer to Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi. The deal would include an option to buy.

Oleksandr Zinchenko underwent a medical at Ajax on Friday ahead of sealing his £1.2m move from Arsenal to Ajax.

The Norway international has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract and said: ‘I spoke to Sander [Berge], my good friend, and I spoke to the manager, and he explained what the system’s like, and how the lads are, and how the club is.

‘He seemed lovely, so it was an easy decision basically. I’m very excited.’
