Lamine Yamal’s agent, the world-renowned Jorge Mendes, has been contacted by Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid and a number of Europe’s other elite sides to enquire about the availability of the teenager, reports in Spain allege.

Barcelona’s well-known financial difficulties have limited their ability to operate in the transfer market and they are expected to look to sell players this summer to raise the funds needed for reinforcements.

The likes of Frenkie de Jong and Andreas Christensen have been touted as the most likely casualties, but Jules Kounde, Marc Casado and Raphinha have been mentioned as potentially more lucrative sales.

If Barcelona want to raise significant funds, selling Yamal would be an easy route, and Spanish publicationMundo Deportivo claim a number of clubs have reached out to Mendes to discuss a possible deal.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool are all said to be “putting the most pressure on” Mendes, but it is claimed that “all the big clubs” would be willing to strike a deal, suggesting the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal could join the race too,

There is also interest from long-term admirers Paris Saint-Germain, who failed with a bid worth €250m to sign Yamal during the summer as they sought a superstar replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

Real Madrid are even believed to have contacted Mendes about what would be arguably the most shocking transfer of all time, but this is likely a non-starter as Yamal, who has voiced a desire to spend his entire career at Barcelona, has publicly laughed off the idea of crossing the Clasico divide on a number of occasions.

Mendes has warned Madrid that such a transfer is practically impossible, but there is no mention of the agent’s response to interest from the Premier League and Ligue 1.

Perhaps fuelling the speculation is the fact Yamal’s current contract expires in the summer of 2026 and his earnings at Barcelona are currently restricted by the fact he does not turn 18 until July this year.

Yamal, however, has already confirmed his desire to sign a new contract with Barcelona as soon as possible.
