Manchester United and Arsenal transfer blow as Victor Osimhen's agent rules out Napoli exit with club top of Serie A

Victor Osimhen’s agent has dealt Manchester United and Arsenal a major blow in their quest to sign him with the striker keen to stay at Napoli.

The Nigerian centre-forward has earned rave reviews since joining the Italian side from Lille in 2020.

His 14 Serie A goals last season helped secure Napoli a Champions League spot, and he has continued his fine form this term.

Osimhen has banged in three goals from six top-flight matches with Luciano Spalletti’s unbeaten side sitting pretty at the top of the table.

The 23-year-old previously admitted he was ‘flattered’ by interest in him from the Gunners.

And the Red Devils target declared in the summer that ‘anything can happen’ regarding his future amid rumours of a move to England.

But Osimhen’s representative Roberto Calenda has put an end to speculation over his client as he insisted the player is happy at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona.

He told Radio Kiss Kiss: “We haven’t found out now that Osimhen is the subject of interest from so many teams.

“But things are done in three: who sells, who buys and the player.

“But I, the boy and Napoli had very clear ideas. Whoever talked about a departure made a mistake.

“It was Victor’s will to stay at Napoli and play the Champions League that he won entry to last year together with his team-mates.

“Victor wanted exactly that, to have a great year with Napoli, between the league and the Champions League.

“He has a long contract with the Azzurri.

“The market is dynamic, but our will is to continue at Napoli and continue to do well.”

Napoli are in no rush to cash in on the player with Osimhen tied down at the club until 2025.

From his 70 outings for Napoli, the former Wolfsburg ace has banged in 32 goals.
