The agent of Liverpool target Manuel Ugarte has revealed the in-demand midfielder is set to leave Sporting Lisbon this summer.

The 22-year-old is being eyed by the Reds for next season, but it appears they are not the only side interested.

Ugarte has made 45 appearances for Sporting this season, with his performances attracting potential suitors from across Europe.

Liverpool are believed to be one of the clubs impressed by the Uruguay international.

His agent has now commented on the speculation and said there are ‘many offers on the table’ for the star.

“Liverpool? There is a lot of talk, but it is not the only club, there are others,” said Jorge Chijane on the Reds’ interest to O Jogo.

“There’s a lot of talk, but I’m still not sure about the club. There are many offers on the table.

“It’s almost certain that he won’t stay, it’s sure he’ll leave,” he also said, before adding: “I believe that in 15 days the situation will be resolved.”

Previous reports claimed Liverpool had already made ‘initial contact’ over a move, but could be competing for his signature with Newcastle and Tottenham.

Strengthening the midfield is set to be high on the Reds’ list of priorities this summer.

The position has been an issue of concern throughout much of the current campaign, with goals and assists lacking from that area.

Liverpool had been strongly linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

However, talkSPORT understands Real Madrid are confident they will win the race for the 19-year-old this summer and it is claimed he has already agreed terms with the Spanish giants.

Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister is another name linked with a move to Anfield, but the Seagulls have not yet received contact from Liverpool.

Ugarte could therefore be the man that Jurgen Klopp’s side go for this summer as they look to improve on a poor campaign.
