Social media erupted into a frenzy over the latest hairstyle of a teammate of Manchester City striker Erling Haaland.

Haaland, now 25, continues his remarkable goal-scoring spree, having netted two more goals during Norway’s decisive 4-1 triumph over Italy, securing their place in the 2026 World Cup.

However, it wasn’t Haaland who captured the spotlight this time. Instead, it was his fellow Norwegian, Ryerson, who became the center of attention—not for his performance, but for his bold style choice.

The 27-year-old took a page from the playbook of NBA icon Dennis Rodman, known for his bold hairstyles, by sporting a leopard print dyed buzzcut.

Fans were left stunned by Ryerson’s adventurous haircut, with some humorously suggesting that Norway should be banned from the World Cup due to his striking appearance.

‘Ryerson should disqualify Norway for the World Cup,’ one X user wrote. The post has over 800 likes, showing that many agreed with the fan.

The Norway squad is full of unique haircuts, and striker Thelo Aasgaard was even caught in the crossfire as fans took aim at Ryerson.

‘Mental that Thelo Aasgaard plays for Norway and he doesn’t have the worst haircut in their team,’ wrote one account.

‘This from Ryerson should be enough to have them disqualified from next year’s World Cup, tbh.’

Meanwhile, another went as far as to compare the full-back’s bold hairdo to that of a football.

‘What has Ryerson done with his hair?!?! Looks like the EURO 2008 ball,’ they said.

However, the real inspiration for the haircut appears to be Rodman, who sported a leopard-print buzzcut while playing for the Chicago Bulls in 1998, the year he won his fifth and final NBA championship.

Ryerson’s hairdo didn’t take all the headlines in Italy, though. Haaland also found himself in the spotlight after an altercation with defender Gianluca Mancini, whom he accused of ‘touching his a**’.

The Norway striker got stuck into a row with Mancini just before half-time and had to be held back by Manchester City team-mate Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Norway went on to win 4-1 to claim an automatic World Cup spot at Italy’s expense and painted Milan red with their celebrations in the aftermath.

Following the match, Haaland claimed that animosity between himself and Mancicini only intensified in the second half when the centre-back allegedly started touching his rump. Haaland went on to score twice in vengeance.

‘At 1-1 he started to touch my a**, and then I thought: “What are you doing?”‘ Haaland told Norwegian outlet TV 2.

‘I started to get a little fired up and said: “Thank you very much for the motivation. Let’s f****** have it.”

‘Then I scored two goals and we won 4-1, so that’s nice. Many thanks to him.’

The win secured Norway’s qualification for their first World Cup since 1998, achieved with a flawless record, having won all eight of their qualifiers with 37 goals and no conceded.

Haaland is now on a whopping 32 goals for club and country this season, and he will follow in his father’s Alf Inge’s footsteps of leading Norway out at a World Cup.

And he celebrated hard with his team-mates in the early hours of Monday morning.

First, they enjoyed a raucous meal at the team hotel before the team bus took them into Milan’s city centre at 2am, according to Norwegian outlet VG.

Norway’s stars were led into a nightclub via a back door, perhaps in a bid to keep them away from any riled Azzurri supporters.

Haaland and his team-mates had booked their ticket to North America in stylish fashion after going a goal down, handing Italy their worst defeat on home soil in over 40 years, with strikes from the Man City man, Antonio Nusa, and Jorgen Strand Larsen putting Italy to the sword.

His first was an unstoppable strike into the roof of the net after latching onto an Oscar Bobb pass. His second, less than a minute later, was a close-range finish that silenced the San Siro and left Donnarumma stunned as the big striker wheeled away with glee.

While Italy knew they would never put nine required past Norway, the nature of their second-half capitulation left their fans enraged, and their misery was compounded by Wolves man Strand Larsen in stoppage time.
