Aston Villa will play the third and final match of their United States pre-season tour this Saturday when they face Mexican outfit Club America.
The Villans continue their preparations ahead of a season in which they will play Champions League football for the first time during the Premier League era. They have been busy in the transfer market as a result, with all of their summer signings having donned claret and blue already.
While they enjoyed two 3-0 friendly victories prior to their trip to the US, results have been significantly worse since crossing the Atlantic. A sizeable 4-1 defeat to Columbus Crew was followed by a 2-0 loss to RB Leipzig last time out.
Here is 90min’s guide to Aston Villa’s next friendly with Club America.

Club America are part way through their campaign already and are therefore missing a few players through various injuries.
Alex Zendejas, Kevin Alvarez and Jorge Mere are guaranteed absentees but Diego Valdes has now recovered from a foot problem.
Club America did lose 3-0 to Chelsea in a recent mid-season friendly, conceding two penalties and plenty of opportunities as they were swept aside comfortably.
Club America predicted lineup vs Aston Villa (4-2-3-1): Malagon; Reyes, Caceres, Lichnovsky, Borja; Dos Santos, R. Sanchez; Dilrosun, Valdes, Rodriguez; Martin.
Aston Villa are without the likes of Ollie Watkins, Emi Martinez and Ezri Konsa after their participation in recent international finals. Tyrone Mings and Boubacar Kamara are also still sidelined with long-term injuries.
However, the good news for Villa fans is that both Emiliano Buendia and Jacob Ramsey have returned from significant spells in the treatment room. Two key creative forces for the Midlands side, they will need to get up to speed swiftly ahead of a busy campaign.
All of Villa’s new signings have featured in some capacity during pre-season. Amadou Onana and Ian Maatsen are the most high-profile newcomers and will be looking to make positive first impressions under the weight of hefty price tags.

Aston Villa have been susceptible at the back during their US tour and will be desperate for a clean sheet against Club America. That may be easier said than done given significant changes are likely to be made throughout the encounter.
However, despite two poor results on the bounce, Emery’s side should have few issues claiming victory this weekend. An attacking display is what Villa fans will want to see, with two more friendlies to come after Saturday’s outing.
